Tabriz

Persian Tabriz design rugs & carpets are named after the city in which the designs originate. The city Tabriz is the capitol of East Azerbaijan Province in the north west of Iran. The city of Tabriz has been producing rugs for hundreds, possibly thousands of years and is the centre of rug export in Iran. Tabriz has a vast rug making industry meaning rugs have one of the widest ranges of designs from medallion, Herati/Mahi, as well as figural, pictorial rugs.
