Somerset is a deep-pile shaggy machine made in Turkey from practical polypropylene, so it stays soft, cleans easily and costs far less than a hand-made shaggy. Sizes are 120 x 170 cm, 160 x 230 cm and 200 x 290 cm, with prices from around £80.
The Berber-style diamonds in white with terracotta or anthracite are the most popular, and the wave designs in plum and grey-beige give a softer look. A good-value bedroom or snug rug.
