Polyester gives a soft, often lustrous pile at a sensible price, and it takes colour beautifully — most of our shimmering and space-dyed designs are polyester. Comfortable underfoot and easy to keep clean.

It is the fibre behind many of our most popular modern rugs: the soft-touch Kuza and Aurora ranges, the deep-pile Plush, the Anders abstracts and the Liberty Washable collection, which is woven in polyester precisely so it can go in a domestic machine. Polyester resists fading and most household stains wipe off, which makes it a good bedroom and living room choice for a family house. It is less springy than wool, so in a hallway or in front of a sofa it will show tracking sooner.
