Asher Rugs
Asher is a natural fibre rug with a pattern, which is less common than it should be. The jute gives the coarse, slightly nubbly handle of a traditional flatweave, while the cotton detailing picks out Berber motifs across the field. Two colourways and three sizes are offered, and the design can be made to order in other dimensions.
Asher is hand woven in India from jute with cotton and a little polyester, in a low flatweave just 10 mm thick and left unbacked. Cotton yarns are placed through the natural jute ground to form the tribal markings. Sizes are 120 x 170 cm, 160 x 230 cm and 200 x 290 cm, with prices from around £109.
