Lima Grey Rug

Grey here is a working, slightly heathered shade rather than a flat one, the unevenly spun wool giving it depth from one end of the rug to the other. The contrast edge draws a clean line around the whole thing, which keeps a neutral flatweave looking deliberate rather than plain.

Part of the Lima collection — hand-woven in India from hand-spun wool in an unbacked flatweave, with a 7mm pile and a 10mm overall height. The yarn is twisted unevenly, so the surface shifts in tone across the rug, and a bold contrasting band runs around the edge.
