Charcoal holds the medallion and border here, the pattern ghosted back into the ground until only the strongest lines remain visible. The sheen of the weave stops the dark tone going flat and dead. It works where a classic Persian layout is wanted but the room itself is modern, and it hides everyday marks well.

Part of the Sovereign collection — machine woven in Turkey from polyester, with a fine 5mm flatweave pile over a cotton backing, 10mm in total. The fibre carries an unusual sheen for a traditional design, catching the light across a faded, deliberately distressed ground.
