Sovereign Vintage Floral Rug

An all-over floral in faded black and deep charcoal, the blooms and scrolling stems softened as though the rug had spent decades in a sunlit hall. The sheen in the fibre lifts detail that would otherwise disappear into the dark ground. Dramatic underfoot, and unexpectedly easy to live with in a pale room.

Part of the Sovereign collection — machine woven in Turkey from polyester, with a fine 5mm flatweave pile over a cotton backing, 10mm in total. The fibre carries an unusual sheen for a traditional design, catching the light across a faded, deliberately distressed ground.
