Azera Berber Rugs
Azera Berber borrows the plain-ground geometry of North African weaving — tribal marks, lineal bars, rhombus outlines, dashes and crosshatch — and works each one in undyed wool on a cream ground. The deep tufted pile gives the pattern shadow and weight rather than colour. Three standard sizes are made, and the range can also be ordered in a bespoke size.
Azera Berber is hand-tufted in India from undyed wool, with a 25 mm shaggy pile and a 30 mm overall height on a spray latex backing. The yarn is left in its natural shade, so the Moroccan-style crosshatch, dash, rhombus and lineal markings read through texture. Sizes are 120 x 170 cm, 160 x 230 cm and 200 x 290 cm, with prices from around £149.
