Elm Taupe Rug

Taupe is the warmest of the four, a natural greyed brown that keeps the undyed character of the yarn visible in the bouclé loops. The stitched border and varied weave give it the handmade look of a rug that has been put together rather than produced. It works particularly well over boards or seagrass.

Part of the Elm collection — hand-woven in India from wool and viscose in a chunky bouclé flatweave, 14mm thick overall, with loops of varied size giving a deliberately uneven surface. A dhurrie-inspired border and fine stitch detail frame each rug, and a latex backing holds the weave steady.
