Napa Ladder Rug

Bands run across the width of this one like the rungs of a ladder, worked in undyed wool against a pale ground so the rhythm shows without any strong contrast. The hand-spun yarn gives each line a slightly uneven edge, which is the character of the weave rather than a fault, and the rug is reversible.

Part of the Napa collection — a hand-woven rug in 93% wool and 7% cotton, worked in a low 10mm pile at 15mm overall and left unbacked so it can be used either way up. The wool is hand spun, so the yarn varies slightly from row to row. Made in India.
