Metro Taupe Rug

Taupe is the quietest Metro, the geometry showing almost entirely through the carved high-low surface rather than through colour contrast. In a pale room it can look close to plain from the doorway, then resolve into pattern as the light moves across it. The easiest of the four to place in an existing scheme.

Part of the Metro collection — hand-tufted in India from pure wool, with a carved high-low pile between 8 and 12mm that sets layered geometric patterns into relief. Each design is worked tonally, one shade against another, so the structure of the pattern comes from depth as much as colour. Cotton backed.
