Sovereign Rugs
Sovereign takes the medallions, borders and scrolling florals of classic Persian weaving and gives them a deliberately faded, softly worn finish. The shine in the polyester lifts a muted palette that runs from ash and charcoal through gold and terracotta to deep blue and near-black. Four sizes are stocked, from 120 x 166cm through to a 240 x 330cm room size.
Sovereign is machine woven in Turkey from polyester, with a fine 5 mm flatweave pile over a cotton backing, just 10 mm in total. The fibre carries an unusual sheen for a traditional design, so the medallions catch the light rather than sitting flat. Sizes run from 120 x 166 cm through 160 x 240 cm and 200 x 290 cm to 240 x 330 cm, with prices from around £129.
Blue, ash, charcoal, terracotta, gold and black colourways give a classic layout a modern edge, and the low profile suits a dining room or a hallway where a deep pile would be in the way.
