Avalon Monochrome Rug

Monochrome pairs light and dark yarns through the basketweave, so the squares alternate and the structure of the weave is visible from right across the room. It is the most graphic of the three, reading as a fine grey and cream check and sitting easily in a modern scheme.

Part of the Avalon collection — hand-woven in India from wool in an unbacked basketweave flatweave, with a 4mm pile and a 14mm overall height. Tight selvedge hems along each edge hold the weave firm, and the single-tone yarn lets the basket structure do all the work.
