Souk Bleach & Black Rug

Bleached jute is worked against black in a Berber-inspired pattern of diamonds and banded lines, the chunky looped yarn giving the design real physical texture. The contrast is strong for a natural fibre rug, and it brings a graphic edge to a room of plain walls and simple wooden furniture.

Part of the Souk collection — hand woven in India from 100% jute, with chunky looped yarns building a high-low surface 18mm in total height. The rugs are unbacked, so the weave reads through on the reverse, and the natural fibre gives a warm, textural feel underfoot.
